This is a preparation shot for the FujiMugs 'Transport' challenge. I went into the Porsche dealer and took a few snaps, but the lighting was poor. This was one of the better shots, but I thought when I got home that it needed less DOF, so I cheated and added the blur in Photoshop.
I like the coloured poles in this market that I just happened to walk past. It was closing for the night so most of the people had left, but there were still a few about.
I wish there was a bit more 'pop' in the greens and yellows in the background, and perhaps the whole picture is a bit underexposed - but at least that stops the fluffy thing blowing out.
Any idea what the 'fluffy thing' is? I haven't a clue...
This is an image I took a few weeks ago, I feel like I should post something. Tonight my S7000 did it's very best to piss me off. Things I hate about this Fuji? Firstly I hate the AF in low light. It's rubbish, slow and innaccurate. So to combat this I have to keep switching back and forth between record and play modes to check the shots for focus. This I could just about put up with, but the kick in the teeth is that when you do switch to play the lens will randomly decide to retract back into the housing (thus loosing the settings where it had previously been). If it was constant and predictable I could live with it, but sometimes it does it after 1 second, sometimes it might take a minute.
So tonight I was out taking shots then quickly switching to play, zooming in to check focus, getting half-way there and then hearing the lens motor kick in to retract it back, swearing, and repeating the whole thing. I got home with a bunch of useless shots. Donations for a DSLR welcome :D
I'm preparing for the current FujiMugs challenge - 'Fruit or Vegetable'. I took this shot and I think I can do better, so I'll try something else tomorrow.
I don't feel entirely comfortable posting this, but I'm not sure why. It's a really old shot (infact shot on the same day as the very first post on this photoblog...).
I wasn't in the mood to get the cam out today and thought that I shouldn't miss out on a day's update just because I don't have anything I took today. I think this shot is more than worthy, it's of the Eden Project biomes. Does anyone have a view on this?
This is my entry for the Photofriday challenge - 'Radiant'.
I think I might be making a series out of these type of shots without realising it. The first one that got my imagination going would of course be Laser Chair. I wasn't sure whether to enter this or the chair pic for the Radiant challenge.
This was taken using the multiple exposure feature on my camera (2 shots overlaid, if only I had a DSLR...). My girlfriend bought me some little small indoor sparklers, I'm going to go out today and buy some big monster ones, then see what else I can trace around.
THANK YOU GOD! Firstly for giving me proper internet access back (the gimps at work block pretty much anything to do with photos or blogging), and thank you also for helping blogger to come back online. I'm not a religious person, but I think I needed help from somewhere.
To any of my regular visitors - sorry. I wanted to update this sooner, I really want to try to put up a fresh pic every day. But being stuck away from home during the week with work makes blogging difficult. Then when I did get back, blogger was off-line so I couldn't even post anyway, frustrated? Not even close.
I've been lacking in inspiration too whilst away, the weather was crap and I have now started to go to work in the dark and come home in the dark, yay! :\
Oh, I suppose I should explain this shot a bit, it's taken from the inside of the Wagamama restaurant in Bristol.
Please add comments as you think 'em folks, either way if you love of hate the pics - I'd like to hear why.
This photoblog is an outlet for me to publish my work and hopefully receive constructive feedback (good or bad). I'm not a diary writing type of person, but I'd like to share the images that I stumble across every now and then. Before September 2005 you can assume all the pics have been taken with a Fuji S7000. My current gear consists of a Canon 20D and various other bits and pieces.
So again, I really appreciate constructive comments, if you love or hate a pic then say why!
