About Me
- Name: Daaave
- Location: Bristol, United Kingdom
This photoblog is an outlet for me to publish my work and hopefully receive constructive feedback (good or bad). I'm not a diary writing type of person, but I'd like to share the images that I stumble across every now and then. Before September 2005 you can assume all the pics have been taken with a Fuji S7000. My current gear consists of a Canon 20D and various other bits and pieces. So again, I really appreciate constructive comments, if you love or hate a pic then say why!

i love that picture. so pretty. so full of colour and movement. (can i do that with the camera i have - a 'canonet ql19'. it's really old, but i can manually set the f stop and shutter speeds. and other than the film being iso 200, is it a special type, to capture all that colour? - or can i use regular old fugi film that i get at walmart?)
Hi Ardean,
I'm sure you can capture pictures just like this, and to be honest you should
be able to get pictures better than this with a 'proper' camera!
You'll need to use a tripod obviously (or a wall, or stable thing that you can rest the camera on). With ISO100 or 200 film and a city centre scene just as this I'm no expert by a long shot but I'd start with a small aperture (above f/8) and try shutter speeds of between 1-5 seconds. You really need a light meter if you haven't got the gut feel for the right exposure settings. I rely almost totally on my camera metering the light for me and suggesting a suitable exposure. I have a LOT to learn. I can only suggest get out and give it a go and don't worry about it too much. You might get some surprisingly interesting results!
Try and choose a subject with plenty of interest, but not too many items fighting for attention.
I hope this helps!
