Rippled Rust

Ok, sorry I haven't updated much recently. I was in a bit of a low point a couple of weeks back as far as inspiration goes, then I went home for Easter. Home is blissfully free of the internet so tonight I've just got back.

Tell me what you think as usual folks!

Winner Takes All

Sorry for not updating in ages, I've got lots of excuses, none of them that great. Been busy at work, busy at home and.... I bought a new PS2....with Gran Turismo 4....

I spent a full year at uni playing GT1 & 2, so when I got paid a bonus at work and GT4 came out in the same month, I couldn't resist. If you like cars and 'the thrill of driving' then you have to get GT4.

Once again as with yesterday, this was inspired by a particular entry in the
FujiMugs 'Abstract' challenge. I'll link directly to it once the challenge is over. Here is the original image.

What I didn't appreciate was that the rope the person in question used was very smooth and neat. So it's back to the hardware shop for me!

I was inspired to take this shot by a shot of some rope that I saw on FujiMugs. I'll post a link to it once it becomes live. Here is the original image.

Horseback

This is one of my favorite shots from the weekend. I was walking away from this tree and happened to turn around to see what it would look like in the light and spotted this scene. The camera was already on and ready, so all I had to do was compose and shoot. But it was still a rush as the auto-focus is slow in low light.

As for the composition, I'm not sure about the amount of dark ground at the bottom, nor the amount of empty space on the left - tell me what you think!

Another shot from the weekend, it's actually the base of this.

Er, not sure what to say about this. I hope you all 'get' this shot, to me it's just showing how something so simple that we all probably overlook day in, day out can actually look quite cool.

Infact, to me, that's one of the best points of a photoblog. :D

I wish there were more trees on the right to fill the frame a little, but I still like the look of this.

Yay, finally another post!

Sorry I've not updated in aaaaaages, but I've been busy and the weather has been awful. I almost didn't take this today because it started to snow on the way to the falconry centre...

On the downside, this isn't really as sharp as it should be as it was so cold I couldn't stop shaking. Plus I'm really starting to notice the lack of reach with the lens on the Fuji (this shot is a crop), I won't buy a teleconverter because I know the optics will be...not all that great. I'll put the money into my DSLR piggy bank instead.
